I was in Minneapolis recently and made a visit to one of my favorite underwear stores, Rainbow Road. I spent a lot of time browsing around (so much so that someone double parked and blocked me, but I digress). I was on the hunt for something new, something I had never tried before. I spotted a small collection of Todd Sanfield briefs and decided it was time to give them a try.
The brand is less than a decade old and the selection I saw in the store was small and simple. In fact I had always passed over them in the past for underwear that had more color or pattern options. With only a handful of options available in the store, I opted for the Todd Sanfield Essential Brief in Red. I slipped into the fitting room and tried it on and OMG! I fell in love!
The first thing that came to mind was the overwhelming comfort of the fabric. You can read all about the modal fabric here, it's quite the environmentally friendly fabric, but what you need most to know is that this fabric is fucking soft and amazing! The fabric keeps you dry and cool during a sweaty day and feels light against your skin. It really is the perfect fabric.
The other thing I love about this brief is the simple but sexy design. The website says "sexy yet understated elegance" and I would agree. This is the brief you want to wear on those days when you want something extremely comfortable, but you still want to look good. No more ugly undies for comfort, you can get style and comfort with this brief.
Todd Sanfield has three collections: Essential, Platinum, and Signature. The Essential collection has the widest variety of styles including briefs, trunks, boxer briefs, jocks , as well as tanks and v-necks. The Essential Collection also offers the most variety of color. While it would be nice to see a few more color options as well as some simple patterns, you can still find one that will wor kfor you. Simple but sexy is always needed in every mans underwear drawer.
Sizing was perfect. I'm a 31" waist and went with size Medium. There's plenty of room for everything in front and back. The price point is in line with other designer brands (around $25) but the really AMAZING thing is the discount offered on the website when you subscribe to their email list....35% off! That's the best offer I've seen any brand offer for signing up for their email list. If you are on the fence about ordering, get off the fence and do it! These feel and look awesome and you can't beat the 35% off deal! Happy Shopping!
