which is the most efficient public vehicle to you, a bus, a cab, or a train?

Seems like it would depend on where you wanted to go. If your destination was on a bus route, there is no cheaper transportation. A train would be more comfortable, but unless your destination was a train station, you're going to have to arrange more transportation. A taxi is undoubtedly the most desirable, as it will take you exactly where you want to go, but it's going to be the most expensive.

If you just judge efficiency by cost per mile, the bus is the hands down winner. Cabs are expensive and carrying one person at a time is not very efficient; trains carry lots of people at a time, but you are paying a lot of tax dollars to subsidize them. The bus does the same trip regardless of the number of people and at a fixed rate.
